Chapter One: The Girl in the Tower

As (Name) awoke from her slumber she looked around her room a sigh escaped her lips, even though the rational side of her brain knew that her wish wouldn’t come true however part of her hoped that it would.

“You gonna ask him?” Happy, the only companion that (Name) had in her tower questioned as the blonde (A/N: reader chan is going to be blonde until later in the story. Sorry to anyone who isn’t blonde) looked sheepishly to the side.

“I am. I mean I’m old enough now” the female smiled weakly as she sprawled out on her bed.

“(NAME)!” a male’s voice called out, upon hearing the voice she rolled off of the bed and ran to the window, “Let down your hair! (NAME)! I’m not getting any younger”

“Coming father” as she looped her hair through the hook and started to pull her father into the tower. “Welcome home Father”

“I don’t know how you do that every day” Hades said to the female as he patted her on the head and entered the tower “It looks exhausting”

“It’s nothing”

“Then I don’t know why it takes so long. I’m just teasing my dear”

Looking over to where Happy was hiding, the (eye colour) teen sighed before focusing on the older man. “So father, you know that tomorrow is a very special day –”

“(Name), sing for me will you? I’m is dead tired”

“Of course” as she ran around the room handing her father a hair brush and a stool for her to sit on. Quickly she sang the words that activated her abilities, “Flower gleam and glow, let your powers shine, make the clock reverse, bring back what once was mine”

“(Name)”

“So I was saying earlier that tomorrow is a special day and you didn’t respond, so I’m just going to tell you … it’s my birthday”

“Can’t be, your birthday was last year”

“That’s the funny thing about birthdays father they are kind of an annual thing” the female spoke up as she went to where one of her paintings was “For my birthday I want to see the floating lights”

“What?”

“I was hoping that you could take me to see the floating lights”

“You mean the stars my dear”

“That’s the thing, I’ve charted the stars and they are always constant but these appear every year on my birthday, only on my birthday. I can’t help but feel that they are meant for me. I need to see them father and not just from my window, in person. I have to know what they are” as the blonde haired teen gushed about the ‘floating stars’ Hades could feel his blood boil, there was no way that he could allow his flower out of this tower.

“You want to go outside? Why, (Name) …! You know why we stay up in this tower, to keep you sage and sound dear. I always knew this day was coming, that you would want to leave the nest just not this soon. It’s a scary world out there child, something will go wrong I swear. Ruffians, thugs, poison ivy, quicksand, cannibals, snakes, the plague, large bugs, men with pointy teeth” Hades dimmed the light in the room creating a more terrifying atmosphere. “All I have is one request” as the blonde ran over to her father and hugged him, Hades knew that he had scared her off of the outside world “(Name)”

“Yes”
“Don’t ever ask to leave this tower again”

“Yes Father”

“I love you very much dear”

“I love you more”

“I love you most” tilting his daughters head down so that he could place a kiss – kiss on head

“Don’t forget it, you’ll regret it. Father knows best”

…….

“Well that went down like a lead balloon.” Happy commented as Hades left the tower leaving a slightly fearful (Name) staring at the wall. “You can try again another time”

“I don’t know Happy. Maybe he’s right, maybe I should just stay in this tower”

“Don’t think that. You can see them yourself” even as the flying blue cat tried to comfort her, the blonde knew that her father was right, she knew nothing about the outside world.

The conversation between the two was cut short when they heard a noise coming from outside the tower, grabbing a nearby frying pan just in case (Name) and Happy took a few steps back and waited in silence, hoping that the noise they had heard was just the wind. It wasn’t the wind but a human that came through the window,

“Alone at last” the pink haired male grinned as he looked into the satchel, before the resounding *WHAM* of being hit in the head with a frying pan rang out across the room.

“Check the teeth” Happy commented, as the female used the handle to see his mouth, moving it back to reveal two small fangs in his mouth “POINTY TEETH”

Upon seeing the man start to regain consciousness he was once again whacked with the frying pan.

After getting the mysterious intruder in the closest and leaving him in there, her father had returned and (Name) was excited to show him what she had accomplished.

“I’ve been thinking a lot about what you said earlier” (Name) told her father as she stared to walk to the closest.

“I really hope you aren’t talking about the stars” Hades growled out, trying to keep a calm façade.

“Floating lights and yes, I’m leading up to that”

“Because I really thought we dropped the issue sweetheart”

“No father, I’m just saying that you think I’m not strong enough handle myself out there”

“I know you aren’t strong enough to handle yourself out there”

“But if you just -”

“Drop it (Name)”

“The thing is -”

“ENOUGH WITH THE LIGHTS (NAME)! YOU ARE NOT LEAVING THIS TOWER! EVER!” Hades blew up, causing her to flinch back and away from the closet. “Ugh. Great now I’m the bad guy”

“All I was going to say father is I know what I want for my birthday” looking of sheepishly to the side the blonde made up a new story to hide her hurt.

“What is it?”

“New paint. Made from the white shells you once brought me”

“That’s a long journey (Name) almost three days”

“I thought it would be a better idea that the … stars”

“I’ll see you in three days’ time” Hades bid farewell to his daughter before (Name) decided to put her new plan into action, a plan that would allow her to see the lights.
